What is the difference between a bento (japanese) and a lunch box (CA,US,UK)?

I've heard this question asked before and I would really like to know what the difference is because I am really into everything Japanese! What is the difference between a bento (japanese) and a lunch box (CA,US,UK)?
bento boxes are amazing

we have lots in our house
you get millions of cute little things to use and put in them
and they are great for portion control as well

the japanese have making things for them down to a fine art
and some look fantastic
and they even have things for you to cook eggs in so they are square and fit the boxes

buying all the tineeeeeeee bottles is very addictive
and they come withtheir own chopsticks

but i bought my daughter a silver pair as a treat as she loves her bentos

then you get straps and bags for them as well and tineeee printed napkins
LOL i could go on all day!

should have said, we are in Scotland and buy them from ebay, com,
much cheaper buying them from the east than here in the UK
and they have millions more choice than here too

look and drool

Bento is a complete meal usually consisting of rice, meat or fish, and side (vegetables). Sometimes with some fruits.
