The tiers are the same size, if that affects anything. In a 2 tier bento box, does the rice go on the top or the bottom?
On the bottom. There might be a more traditional answer as to why, but I've always assumed that it was because the top tier created a visual feast when first opened. Plus, the rice (though important) is looked at as more of a base while the side dishes are the true variety in both looks and taste. I've seen people use furikaki and umeboshi to jazz up the rice, but even then it's always been on the bottom tier.In a 2 tier bento box, does the rice go on the top or the bottom?
i pack a bento most of the time to take to work, i don't think that it matters whether the rice goes on top or bottom, personally. it depends on the presentation. like, if the rice were in cute shapes and colors, i'd put it on top, but if it was just plain, i'd put it on bottom. either way, have fun with your bento! :D
