How do you make a BENTO lunch box?

I want to build the ACTUAL BOX. I'm not asking for recipes. What qualities are necessary to have a good bento box and how do I build one?

You can buy them online. I've also seen a few at local grocery stores and even in Target. I guess bento boxes are becoming en vogue in the US or something...



Traditional bento boxes were made from wood which was then lacquered. Nowadays they're made with food grade plastic.How do you make a BENTO lunch box?
1) water-proof

2) easy to wash to keep it clean
