When I lived in Japan my obaachan packed my lunch with all sorts of meat. The most common ones were

- kaarage (japanese-style fried chicken)

- fried or boiled sausages

and mince beef mixed with furikake (cooked of course)

of course this the cold bento.

For hot bento I always love just the fried beef. What type of meat should go into bento lunches?
Basically a good rule of thumb is whatever tastes good cold/room temperature. It doesn't necessarily have to be Japanese, it can even be a sandwich! What type of meat should go into bento lunches?
Anything as long as the bento has rice meat and vegetablesade in a Japanese style.
