Simple Foods To Add Into Bento?

I like to make small lunches for my boyfriend and I'm running out of ideas ! What are some simple recipes I can conjure up to reinvent it a little ? (:|||well, obviously rice. but not just plain rice. perhaps add some peas and carrots to the rice. or maybe some pieces of nuts. even some types of fruit. nori rolls, or nigiri. noodles work well with some nice light sauce. again, plain noodles or add things. many things hold up quite well, especially if you chill them well before packing. and again add some chopped or sliced nuts or sesame seeds or sunflower seeds, perhaps lightly steamed veggies. all sorts of things to put in a baked or steamed bun. consider sweet red bean paste (azuki beans), yum. cashew chicken will hold up very well. make a salad with lentils and veggies. go crazy with salad, either raw or steamed, plain, or lightly sauced. if you have a thermos, hot or cold soup is always nice. add a few small candies, i like jelly beans or those little paper wrapped taffies.

don't listen to mom, go ahead and play with your food. cut pieces of veggies in fun shapes as edible decoration. make a rose from cherry or grape tomatoes. use different sprouts as a bed for other things. thinly sliced radishes add a zing in flavor and are a nice touch added to many things. small pieces of green onion sliced lengthwise and soaked in ice water for awhile will curl up
